The man wanted in connection with the shooting of PC Rachael Bown near Lenton Boulevard has been arrested at Heathrow Airport.
24-year-old Trevon Kyron Thomas was arrested at 11am by London police officers, as he tried to leave the country. Nottinghamshire Police emphasised that his arrest had been a team effort, as his details had been circulated to forces across the country.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman added: "This morning the Metropolitan Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting of PC Rachael Bown…He is the man Nottinghamshire detectives have been keen to trace and whose details were issued to the public earlier today."
Thomas is currently being returned to Nottinghamshire where he will be interviewed by detectives.
