One to Watch: White Lies

Just over a year ago, I interviewed a then unknown band by the name of ‘White Lies’ at the Bodega Social Club. It then really wasn’t to my surprise that they turned out to be one of the best live bands I had ever seen.

Having then supported Glasvegas in December and Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas on the NME tour, it thrusted them into the limelight even more culminating in headlining Rock City to over 2000 people. Nostalgic bass heavy tones of Joy Division and the moody lyrics of death and love really make for something unique. The incredible voice of singer Harry elevates them just that much higher, which turns the music from depressing to uplifting and exciting.

White Lies are currently touring with Asobi Seksu and release an album To Lose My Life. Myspace | Spotify
