Laura Theobald has been re-elected as Postgraduate Officer for a second term, making her the first re-elected Officer in the Nottingham SU history.
A total of 545 votes were cast. 467 of those voters voted for Laura, and only 78 voting for RON.
Laura says she feels “super excited” at being elected, but that tonight was “nerve racking”. Balancing campaigning and her current role as Postgrad Officer has, she says, “been stressful”, but she plans on going to Ocean tonight to celebrate.
She says that she wants to continue the work she has started this year, and says that she has long standing projects that she wants to finish. She says her immediate next step is to “increase funding into postgrad projects and get the Union representing postgrad issues”.
Laura feels she has a greater responsibility to students now because of how high the voter turnout was, as it shows students are more engaged with the Union.
