No Need to Bake Mug Cake

When you’ve got those late-night cake and hot-chocolate cravings, but its too much effort to get your pots and pans out, the glorious mug-cake is going to be your new best friend. With a few ingredients, a microwave and a couple of minutes, you’ll have dreamy, spongy chocolate cake without the hassle.

Nutella Chocolate Heaven

Ingredients:

4 tbsp cocoa powder

3 tbsp caster sugar

1 tsp butter

2 tbsp milk

3 tbsp self-raising flour

1tsp vanilla extract

1 egg

Method:

Mix the Nutella, sugar, cocoa, flour, egg and vanilla extract together in your chosen mug with a mini hand whisk or fork, until it is smooth with no lumps in the batter.

Melt the butter in the microwave for 30 secs/1 minute and then add this to the mix.

Place the mug in the microwave and cook at full power for 1-2 minutes.

Add cream, fruit or more melted chocolate for extra indulgence!

S4 cake strawberry

Strawberries & Cream

Ingredients:

3 tbsp Strawberry Yogurt

4 tbsp plain flour

3 tbsp caster sugar

Sliced strawberries

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp baking powder

1 tbsp oil

Method:

Place strawberries at the bottom of your mug.

In a bowl mix the yogurt, flour, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking powder and oil together until there are no lumps in the mixture.

Pour mixture on top of the strawberries in the mug and cook in the microwave for around 4 minutes or until risen.

Serve with some whipped cream on top and strawberry sauce if you’re feeling fruity.

These delicious little treats are the perfect pre-sleep snack and are sure to cause serious pudding envy among your housemates. So simple, so easy and so tasty!
