This week, Ian presents a selection of the smaller bands who find themselves lower down the bills of late summer festivals, such as Bestival and Reading/Leeds, but can’t afford to be missed. No matter how grotty you feel when you awake, make the effort to go and see these guys and you won’t regret it…hopefully.
If you’re still feeling completely spaced out, then the psychedelic sounds of Merchandise, Temples, Childhood and Splashh offer a good way to ease you into the day. Alternatively, if you’re just looking for a ‘punch in the face’ to wake you the hell up, Savages, Drenge or The Wytches should do a good job. Or maybe you’re immune to hangovers/plan to be on stimulative drugs non-stop; in that case, Findlay, Parquet Courts and SKATERS will just play like 3pm is 3am.
