SU Referenda Results: No Support for Marking Boycotts and Sustainable Energy Not Passed

The results of the two SU referenda on ‘no support for marking boycotts’ and sustainable energy were announced today, but neither received enough votes to become policy.

In the marking boycott referendum, 1199 students voted yes, 600 students voted no and there were 685 abstentions.

2014 students voted to support the sustainable energy motion, 252 students voted against and there were 268 registered abstentions.

Around 3300 votes were needed for the referenda to become quorate, meaning that neither policy will be adopted by the SU.

UoNSU is expected to make a statement on the referenda later today.
