PREVIEW – STRICTLY COME DANCING: THE PROFESSIONALS

With BBC One’s award-winning TV show Strictly Come Dancing coming to Nottingham this May on their 2019 The Professionals Tour, here is a short preview of what to expect before the stars of the Britain’s favourite prime time TV show step onto the stage at the Royal Concert Hall for two special performances on Tuesday 7th May to Wednesday 8th May.

Strictly Come Dancing was first pushed into the spotlight in 2004, with their debut show airing on a Saturday evening. The British television dance context sees celebrities partnered with professional dancers from across the globe to compete in Ballroom and Latin dances, each striving to win the coveted glitterball.

Each couple is scored out of 10 by a panel of expert judges in their respective fields. The recognisable format has been exported to over 40 countries, adapted to Christmas and charity specials, and has become so popular that show bosses have chosen to take it on the road with this tour featuring their beloved professionals. So what can we expect from this glamorous production?

Audiences can rest assured that they will be brought a dazzling dance show featuring: Strictly champion Katya Jones, 2017 semi-finalist AJ Pritchard, two-time Strictly finalist Giovanni Pernice, 2016 Strictly finalist Oti Mabuse, Australian Open Champion Dianne Buswell, professional World Mambo Champion and former Strictly finalist Karen Clifton, two-time Ballroom and Latin World Champion Nadiya Bychkova, four-time British National Champion Neil Jones, three time Strictly semi-finalist Pasha Kovalev, and 2017 Strictly finalist Gorka Marquez.

The BBC have promised that ‘audiences will enjoy the incredible talent of these world-class dancers as they perform exquisitely choreographed Ballroom and Latin routines with all the sequins, sparkle and stunning production values we have come to know and love’.

The 2019 UK Tour kicks off in Salford on 3rd May, embarking on a limited 35-date tour that will waltz its way around the country before taking a final bow at the Sunderland Empire on the 2nd June.

With this in mind, fans of the show and followers of the world-renowned dancers are certainly capable of astounding us with their dance prowess.
