In what could be the last instalment in The Fast and the Furious franchise that first came roaring onto our screens all the way back in 2001, Furious 7 is taking us to new heights, literally. The trailer wastes no time in building the suspense, throwing us straight into a high-octane heist that involves the team skydiving in their cars from a plane. As you do.
The trailer features new additions to the cast, including action madman Jason Statham, who made a cameo in Fast & Furious 6, and Khaleesi’s right hand woman Nathalie Emmanuel, who’s role in the film is remaining ambiguous. We are given a glimpse into the gang’s mission in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by Dillon Francis & DJ Snake’s killer track ‘Get Low’.
The Fast and the Furious franchise is renowned for its enviable cars, awesome street races and high-intensity action. The trailer wraps up on an emotional note, as Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto says, ‘I don’t have friends. I got family’, followed by a closeup shot of the late Paul Walker. The completion of Furious 7 after Paul Walker’s death shows how close-knit the cast are to have supported each other through such a traumatic loss.
