Have you ever been in the middle of reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and thought “this would be so much better if there were zombies in it”? No? Me neither, but let’s give it a go.
The trailer follows a typical two half style. The first is very prim and proper (or as some would say, Austen-tatious) and then suddenly we are propelled into a Shaun of the Dead-esque set up. Elizabeth Bennett and her sisters have to slay zombies in order to stay alive and actually look very comfortable doing so. This rom-zom-com doesn’t go low on the gore, which is a nice touch, and the fight scenes look very well-choreographed. The music is very orchestral and uplifting during the period parts, but then appropriately changes into an action track for the battle with the undead.
Starring an ensemble cast of Cinderella, the 11th Doctor and TWO of the Lannisters, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies opens on February 5th 2016.
