Varsity 2015 Fixtures Released

The fixtures for the 2015 Varsity Series between the University of Nottingham (UoN) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) have been released, with UoN looking to secure a fourth consecutive title.

This year’s condensed Series will involve 19 events between 27 April and 6 May beginning with basketball at the Capital FM Arena, where the popular ice hockey face-off will also be held on 29 April. The 20th and final event is men’s cricket, which will be played at the end of the exam period on 5 June at NTU’s Clifton Campus.

Though the UoN men’s football team has been banned from Varsity 2015 following a breach of the Student Union’s Code of Conduct, the men’s football fixture will still go ahead on 1 May. Players from the Intra-Mural Sports (IMS) leagues are being selected instead to represent the University against NTU at Notts County’s Meadow Lane stadium.

Rugby will be played at Lady Bay between 2-3 May, while 2015 also sees the official introduction of dodgeball, futsal, volleyball and table tennis into the Varsity programme.

This year’s chosen charity is Cerebral Palsy Sport, the leading national disability sports organisation supporting people with cerebral palsy to achieve their sporting potential.

Tickets will go on sale in early March after the Notts Varsity 2015 website goes live.
