In recent times no one has quite got the cult following in the beauty world like Kylie Jenner. Her Instagram pictures hoard comments from fans begging to be let into her makeup routines and rituals. Lucky for all those fans, last month Kylie launched an app where she posts videos of her favourite products and the tricks she uses to apply them to create a flawless look. To celebrate the launch, we’ve compiled a short list of the top tricks she uses and the student-friendly product alternatives you can use to achieve her look at home!
Cover Your Base…
Whether you’re a Kylie lover or hater, she’s certainly giving us food for thought on our beauty routines and we’re loving her latest solution to applying our moisturiser properly. Kylie uses the Artis Oval Makeup brush to apply her moisturiser rather than using her hands, this may seem pointless, but we can certainly see where she’s coming from.
By using a soft but firm brush, this will make sure your moisturiser is fully blended and soaked in, ensuring that your foundation doesn’t slide when applying. What’s not to like we ask? Perhaps the whopping $72 price tag, we’d instead recommend the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which will have the same effect, but not break the bank at £9.99.

How To Wing It…
Mastering the classic eyeliner flick is the nemesis of 99% of the female population and we certainly agree. Cue Kylie, who has come up with a simple answer to helping us fight our eyeliner demons. In a tutorial on her birthday make up look, her make up artist revealed how sellotape can be used to create the perfect feline flick. This is easily achieved by placing a small piece at the outer corner of each eye, meaning equal application is attained every time. For this Kylie uses Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner (£12.99), but a cheaper alternative is Collection Extreme 24 Hour Liner (£2.99).

Perfect the Pout
Although Kylie can no longer claim natural lips, her signature pout certainly placed her firmly into the beauty lookbooks. When she revealed that she uses Mac ‘Velvet Teddy’ lipstick and Mac ‘Whirl’ lip liner it caused an international shortage on these various colours… Her look can easily be achieved with high quality dupes such as the NYX range, available on Amazon. Firstly, apply a base such as No 7’s Protect & Perfect (£9.95) to increase the wear you get from your lipstick. Carefully apply NYX’s lip liner in ‘Mauve’ (£3.25), but make sure you also fill your lips partly in with the liner, to blend the liner with the lipstick. Revlon’s ‘Mauve It Over’ (£7.41) is the perfect dupe for Mac’s ‘Velvet Teddy’ (£15.50) and will give you a chic everyday look.
