Regeneration
Malevolent Mother Nature,
her storm-threatening winter winds
gnaw down to your bones
and sever seemingly sturdy trees,
as if to remind you that
nothing can last,
no matter how deep
the roots.
Yet when you look up,
these sun-haloed clouds
envelope your gaze
like the arms of a far-off loved one.
Though nothing can last,
there is beauty in the
act of creation.
