At 6.30am there was a major fire at Nottingham Train Station that has now caused major disruptions across the city.
The station is currenlty closed and there are no train services towards Nottingham. This means that all services on the Nottingham/London, Matlock/Nottingham/Newark, Nottingham/Mansfield/Worksop, Leicester/Lincoln/Grimbsy, Nottingham/Grantham/Skegness and Liverpool/Nottingham/Norwich routes are disrupted.
In addition, Queens Road and Carrington Street have been closed in both directions.
“nobody is believed to have been injured”
According to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire is said to have started in a toilet and had ‘spread across the station concourse and into the roof’.
A spokesman said that “nobody is believed to have been injured” and that the fire is “now under control”.
There were reportedly 60 firefighters at the scene and an investigation is now under way.
