A female cyclist was knocked off her bike on Derby Road at approximately 4.00pm this afternoon.
A student who witnessed the event but wished to remain anonymous told Impact that the woman was knocked off her bike when a truck reversed into her.
The incident happened opposite the Volvo garage on Derby Road, close to a house currently having building work done. It is not known whether the truck was connected to that house.
The student said that the woman didn’t appear to be badly hurt but was taken away in an ambulance.
A police car and several ambulances were present at the scene. The police have not yet released a statement concerning the event.
