The University of Nottingham Students’ Union (UoNSU) has announced a by-election for the position of Postgraduate Officer for the 2017/18 academic year.
The newly elected SU Postgraduate Officer, Agata Miezaniec, will no longer take up her position as Postgraduate Officer at the Students’ Union this September.
The by-election nominations for the Postgraduate Officer role will now open on Monday 23 April at 9am and close on Monday 30 April at 5pm.
Agata recently received an offer for a research scholarship and ‘after careful consideration the opportunity was too significant to decline.’
“We wish Agata all the best with her research scholarship.”
The voting period is from 10 May to 17 May with the role starting in September 2018.
Alan Holey, the Students’ Union President, said:
“We’re sad not to welcome Agata into the Officer team as Postgraduate Officer but completely understand the opportunity she’s been given. We wish Agata all the best with her research scholarship.”
Yolanda King, the Students’ Union Postgraduate Officer, said:
“Being the Postgraduate Officer is a great opportunity to make a difference to postgraduates at the University of Nottingham and I’d encourage anyone who is interested to nominate themselves or come and have a chat with me to find out more.”
