Angharad Smith has been elected as your new SU President for 2015-16.

9819 turned out to vote for the President and Angharad was declared the winner after the fifth round of counting. With 4004 votes, Angharad beat Nicole Ocansey in the final round of counting.

Angharad told Impact: “I can’t put it in to words, I’m absolutely ecstatic. It’s been one of the most exciting experiences of my life and I’ve made so many friends. I’m absolutely indebted to my campaign team”.

She also said that she would be going to Ocean as she “hasn’t been out in so long”.

In her manifesto, Angharad stated that the she wishes to address the recurring theme brought up by students – a perceived lack of transparency in the SU. She wants to try to extend Week One into a ‘Welcome Fortnight’ and lobby for the amount of lectures in the first week of term to be reduced.

Johnny Lawrence exclaimed: “It’s my best result ever, but I’m pleased for her”.

Current SU President, Harry Copson, commented: “She’ll do brilliantly, of course she will”.
