Jenny’s Wedding takes what could be a formulaic romantic comedy and gives it a twist. Katherine Heigl stars as Jenny a woman under a lot of pressure as she gets older and more and more of her family members are getting married and having babies. Her straight-laced family is sure that she’ll be getting married as soon as she finds a husband.
Jenny does want to get married and tells her long time girlfriend Kitty (Alexis Bledel) only to then be faced with the reality that a wedding means finally telling her family the truth. Coming out to her family (Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond) is no easy task and the tension between the family threatens to rip them apart. Jenny and Kitty’s relationship remains strong, but whether Jenny’s old-fashioned family can come to terms with her true self will only be revealed in theatres and Video on Demand July 31st, August 1st respectively.
