Do you need some quick n’ easy recipes to get you through your busy student schedule? Well, help is at hand. We are sharing our favourite speedy recipes. This week we have been cooking… calzone!
Lets face it, there just isn’t enough time in the day to make a pizza dough base from scratch this busy, busy week. Steal our tortilla calzone cheat for a quick n’ clever dish.
Ingredients:
- 2 tortillas
- 2 teaspoons of tomato paste
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 75g mozzarella cheese, thiny sliced
- A few basil leaves
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Method:
- Rinse the tortillas with water to soften them.
- Spread the tomato paste over half of each tortilla, and then throw the tomato and
mozzarella on top. Add the basil leaves and spinach with a dash of salt and pepper. - Fold each tortilla over the filling and press the edges together (if the edges do not
stick properly, do not worry). - Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the tortillas and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side until
golden, and enjoy.
Other Fillings:
- Fill with your favourite pizza topping for a flavoursome dish.
- Try adding bacon, ham or chicken for a meatier meal.
