It’s sequel time. Pitch Perfect was either an amazing film or a guilty pleasure. Either way, its catchy tunes and straightforward plot made it accessible to a wide audience, and its sequel looks set to follow a similar formula.
The trailer opens with a reprise of “The Cup Song”, which went viral when the first film was released. In Pitch Perfect 2, Anna Kendrick leads the a cappella crew in a new sing-off tournament which no American team has ever won because “the world hates us”.
With humorous lines such as “She actually speaks eight languages, but loser is not one of them”, this looks to be an enjoyable sequel. It is likely to draw in returning fans, as well as a few new members who are curious to see what all the hype is about.
Pitch Perfect 2 is set for release on May 15th 2015.
