A man in his early twenties has died after being stabbed in Hyson Green on the night of Wednesday 1st June.
Nottinghamshire Police were called to the scene at around 8:35pm on Wednesday night, finding the man with injuries caused by a knife.
Aqib Mazhar, named locally, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre but unfortunately passed away as a result of the stabbing.

The assault took place on Russell Road in Forest Fields, roughly a mile from Castle Retail Park and student accommodation in Radford.
Superintendent Kate Meynell has said that Nottinghamshire Police are “working quickly and effectively to arrest those involved in this incident.
“More than 80 officers are involved in this murder investigation and all are working tirelessly to bring those responsible for Wednesday night’s violence to justice”.
Nottinghamshire Police are “keen for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward” and are “treating the incident as a murder investigation”.

Update: Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 23 year old and 21 year old man were both arrested on Thursday 2nd June, whilst an 18 year old man was arrested this morning (Friday 3rd June).
The police department reiterate that anyone with more information should come forward.
