With the world in awe of her flawless wedding photos, Solange Knowles has left us reflecting on the singers best style moments. She’s always been known for her bold outfits, whether she’s strutting down the red carpet, DJ-ing at a club or strolling the streets with her son Julez. Solange gets every trend on point from sporty-chic to elegant red carpet glamour, and does so with a dose of confidence – hence why she has become one of the most inspirational style icons of our time.
Solange is not the kind of girl to follow typical traditions, which was evident in her intimate and chic wedding ceremony. Solange opted for a dramatic caped gown, designed by Kenzo’s Humberto Leon, which reflected her playful and elegant personal style. After the ceremony the newlyweds rode away on their “just married” white vintage bicycles whilst Solange looked effortlessly stylish in a white caped-jumpsuit designed by Stéphane Rolland. The wedding was intimate, with only 50 guests who all wore white including the Carter family, Mama Knowles and Janelle Monae. It is safe to say that this wedding will be remembered as one of the most stylish events of the year.
Solange is one of those rare women whose red carpet and street style are totally different from each other. The key to her style is colour and simplicity: when in a casual setting she often opts for beautiful bright prints with movement, to keep her outfits classy but fun. She’s loves to mix prints and fabrics, combinations of colour that just somehow always seem to work. On the red carpet she usually gives us a sort of colourful minimalist vibe; typically she sticks to singled coloured outfits with sleek lines and silhouettes, including minimal accessories to keep it clean and elegant. And no one can forget about her beautiful mane: whether it big and beautiful or short and simple, she always picks the right style to perfectly compliment her outfits.
It’s safe to say, Solange is way more than just Beyonce’s little sister, she’s a mother, a career woman and a style icon in her own right.
