I have comprised a brief list of some of the most beautiful and indispensable items to be added to your Christmas List. Here’s the bad news – unless you’re lucky enough to secure a spot on the Forbes Billionaires list, it’s looking quite unlikely that you’ll be unwrapping these beauties on Christmas morning, but, we can dream…
SAINT LAURENT, Ankle boots
I’m so happy to see that these gorgeous glittery Saint Laurent booties have been aptly named ‘BABIES’. Just imagine waking up to these on christmas morning.
I know what you might be thinking – pink isn’t a festive colour. I beg to differ. I think we need to look beyond the traditional festive reds, golds and greens. At this time of year the colour is pretty much irrelevant so long as glitter is in the equation.
These boots would add an ultra glamorous pop of colour to a simple black outfit. I’m thinking a sheer black blouse tucked into slim-fit black jeans and a long tailored black coat. An absolutely winning outfit for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Years for that matter.
TASCHEN, Annie Leibovitz XL book
This is the ultimate fashion fanatics dream book. It is one of Taschen’s many beautiful, glossy coffee table books for life.
This one features some of Leibovitz’s most intimate and iconic photographic work. The fabulously striking cover is a shot of non other than the incredibly cool Patti Smith – this photograph appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1978. The book even comes complete with a guide of essays providing information about the subjects of each image. The coolest Christmas present ever.
GUCCI, Alpaca Coat
This luxurious 60s style Gucci fur coat would be the most fabulous addition to any wardrobe this Christmas. This gorgeous coat was hand-woven in Italy from the finest alpaca wool and it looks even more divine in this neutral sandy tone.
To mirror the runway, why not complete the 60s look by adding some over the knee boots and a shift dress.
ACNE STUDIOS, jacket
I have an unhealthy obsession with Acne Studios and their beautiful staple jackets. This bomber style has become a modern classic.
I think it would look ridiculously cool with ripped skinnies and ankle boots for a casual daytime look. The shearling collar adds to the biker/aviator vibe and I think this jacket has the ability to make anyone look a million times cooler than we actually are. An essential item.
EDIE PARKER, the ‘Oscar’ acrylic shoulder bag
Edie Parker, we salute you. You have created such a stylish and wonderfully shaped shoulder bag, fit for the festive season. Whether you’re making a mulled wine pit-stop at the Christmas markets or en route to a Christmas cocktail party, this bag will suit every occasion.
It also comes in the perfect size to throw in the essentials – makeup, mobile & money. I especially love the contrast between the shimmery pearly green tone and the gunmetal chain strap – adding a slight edge to the fabulously chic bag.
NANCY GONZALEZ, backpack
Nancy Gonzalez’s luxurious handcrafted crocodile backpack will undoubtedly ameliorate even the drabbest of everyday outfits. I daren’t even imagine the number of envious side-glances you’d be victim of if you strolled into Hallwood rocking this bag.
I just cannot fault Gonzalez’ work. From the simplistic geometric shape and the multifunctional style, to the multipurpose colour – this bag needs to go at the top of your Christmas list.
FENDI, suede knee boots
Stay stylish and comfortable over Christmas in these beautiful block-heel Fendi knee boots. These boots would hold a timeless spot in your wardrobe, given their classic and durable style, which could be worn from season to season.
What could be a more perfect Christmas look than slipping on these boots with thick wool tights, an oversized knitted jumper dress and a chunky wrap-around scarf? Thank you, Fendi.
SOPHIA WEBSTER, ‘Mila’ heels
Sophia Webster’s signature kooky style meets retro glamour here and I think it’s a winning combination for a pair of party season heels. Turn fashionable heads with these playfully embellished evening heels on New Years Eve.
These are a pair for life, not just for Christmas… When writing your list, don’t forget to write a little side note for the big man, stressing the importance of this item. Think of it as an investment, Mr Claus.
Well, I truly hope you’re lucky enough to unwrap any of these absolute beauties on Christmas morning. In the meantime, be sure to up your chances of securing the Gucci coat (at least) by following the wise words of the Jackson 5:
“He knows if you’ve been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake”…
