Delphine Avraam has been elected as your new Student Union’s Women’s officer for 2019/2020.
Delphine is excited about being elected, as she was feeling nervous about the result.
The highlight of her campaign has been getting to know other people and “meeting both winner and losers who are dedicated to the SU”, and ended up making new friends on her course she hasn’t met before.
Her biggest challenge throughout the trail has been balancing University and campaigning. She’s part of the women’s network and notes how challenging it is to manage without a representative officer. She looks to get the network proper representation on track this year.
The manifesto point she most likely wants to implement is letting people know about the women’s network. She wants the women’s officer to be as evident to the student body as the BME and LGBT+ officers.
She plans to celebrate in Rock City after a dinner with her housemates.
